On July 21, Shandong Heavy Industry Group’s Green Intelligent Products Exhibition officially opened in Hanoi, Vietnam, under the theme “Tech Empowered, Future Equipped.” Wang Zhijian, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. Partners from 62 countries around the world gathered to witness the Group’s full-range, all-scenario green and intelligent high-end equipment solutions. This marked Shandong Heavy Industry Group’s first international exhibition held overseas focusing on new energy and digital and intelligent technologies.
Wang Zhijian said that the exhibition demonstrated Shandong Heavy Industry’s formidable technological leadership. Held at the Hanoi Convention and Exhibition Center from July 21 to 22, the exhibition featured green and intelligent powertrain systems, commercial vehicles, construction machinery, agricultural equipment, warehousing equipment, and power and energy products. The exhibits covered application scenarios including smart logistics, smart passenger transport, smart mining, smart construction, smart agriculture and green energy, with five dedicated technology zones for battery electric, hydrogen fuel cell, hybrid, alternative-fuel and intelligent driving technologies. The exhibition is scheduled to open to the public on the afternoon of July 22.
Powertrain Systems: Diverse Technology Pathways Drive a Green Future
Weichai showcased a diverse portfolio of power technologies spanning new energy powertrains, power and energy solutions, hybrid power systems and multi-fuel powertrains, delivering integrated solutions combining all-scenario green power, distributed energy and intelligent connectivity. It also showcased for the first time a mining energy solution integrating source, grid, load, storage and control into a single architecture. HanDe Axle showcased two electric drive axle products specifically developed for the Southeast Asian market. Suitable for trucks, buses and other vehicle applications, the products are designed to meet the demands of a wide range of operating conditions. Zhuzhou Gear Co., Ltd. presented an electric drive axle developed specifically for 3.5-ton light-duty trucks, an electric motorcycle drive unit adapted to the Vietnamese market, as well as mass-produced electric drive units and reduction gear assemblies for new energy passenger vehicles.
Commercial Vehicles: Customized Solutions for All Scenarios, Empowering Greener Transport
SINOTRUK presented 29 new energy vehicles for six major application scenarios—port transport, resource transport, line-haul transport, urban construction, camping and off-road use, and urban distribution logistics. The lineup covered battery electric, range-extended and hydrogen-powered technology pathways, with customized solutions tailored to different operating conditions. It also showcased a comprehensive aftermarket service system covering the entire vehicle lifecycle, helping customers improve efficiency and reduce costs. From products and energy solutions to services, SINOTRUK has a complete ecosystem capable of providing customers with one-stop solutions for the deployment of new energy commercial vehicles.
SHACMAN has developed a green new energy transport portfolio covering all scenarios and technology pathways, including battery-electric charging, bottom battery swapping and hybrid solutions. The portfolio is tailored to key heavy-duty truck applications in Southeast Asia, including long-haul line-haul logistics, short-haul port operations, construction, urban concrete mixing and mining transport.
In line with Vietnam’s policy drive to accelerate the electrification of public transport, Zhongtong Bus showcased a battery-electric lineup covering urban trunk routes, community circulator services and intercity tourism. Featuring high environmental adaptability, low total lifecycle costs and intelligent safety, the lineup offers deployable and dependable Zhongtong solutions.
The new energy models presented by Asiastar Bus target tourism passenger transport and group travel applications with demanding requirements for driving range, luggage capacity and intelligent safety, as well as business reception services, intercity passenger transport and group travel in premium markets worldwide, including Europe.
Weichai New Energy Commercial Vehicle’s battery-electric trucks cover multiple scenarios, including intercity logistics, urban distribution and last-mile delivery. Developed from the ground up on a purpose-built battery-electric platform, they outperform ICE-to-electric conversion products in vehicle packaging, center-of-gravity control and energy efficiency.
Construction Machinery: An Intelligent Equipment Portfolio Reshapes a New Paradigm for Green Construction
Shantui showcased 11 machines and an intelligent cockpit. Centered on new energy and intelligent technologies, its lineup spans a full-size range of battery-electric loaders, bulldozers and excavators. By integrating individual-machine intelligence with remote intelligent management and control, Shantui offers an integrated solution tailored to the intelligent upgrading needs of overseas construction sites, demonstrating its capabilities in integrated solutions covering a full range of green and intelligent construction machinery.
Lovol Heavy Industry showcased six new energy machines, presenting a complete integrated new energy solution covering loading, excavation and haulage for green mining and smart construction applications. The products span multiple technology pathways, including battery-electric and trolley-powered solutions, precisely addressing the core needs of green mining and infrastructure construction.
Agricultural Equipment: Integrating New Green and Intelligent Technologies Across All Modern Agricultural Scenarios
At the exhibition, Weichai Lovol Smart Agriculture showcased 10 core flagship products that directly address real-world pain points in agricultural production worldwide. The lineup provides all-scenario operating solutions covering a wide range of specialized working conditions and highlights the company’s cutting-edge technologies and R&D capabilities in intelligent and green agricultural machinery. Its tractor lineup was particularly noteworthy, featuring not only a 410 hp heavy-duty hybrid tractor designed for large-scale, high-intensity field operations, but also a zero-emission battery-electric platform tractor suited to orchard cultivation and precision municipal operations. Weichai Lovol Smart Agriculture’s AI foundation model enables a complete closed loop of “monitoring–decision-making execution–feedback,” making the company the first in China to integrate the entire smart agriculture data chain.
Smart Logistics: AI Transforms Warehousing, Ushering in a New Era of Efficiency and Agility
KION presented a complete suite of automated intralogistics solutions, comprising a new energy vehicle portfolio and an AI Smart Warehouse. Built around KION’s self-developed MyMA full-stack software platform, the AI Smart Warehouse enables six-way shuttling and dynamic reconfiguration of storage locations and aisles, increasing space utilization by approximately 30% compared with traditional automated warehousing systems. Powered by AI algorithms, the system shifts warehousing from passive execution to intelligent decision-making, enabling agile responses to a wide range of changes.
Power & Energy: Full-Range Power Generation Equipment + Intelligent Microgrids: Unlocking New Solutions for Global Power Supply
The Power & Energy exhibition area featured generator sets powered by a range of fuels, including diesel, natural gas and heavy fuel oil, together with a newly self-developed microgrid solution. Among the products showcased were the 16M55 diesel generator set, 12M33 containerized diesel generator set, 8WH28 heavy-fuel-oil generator set, 16M33 containerized gas generator set and 20M55 gas generator set, which can be widely used in data centers, major infrastructure projects and islanded power supply applications.
The microgrid solution was a particular highlight at the exhibition. Designed to meet urgent market demand driven by the accelerated buildout of global computing infrastructure, the wider adoption of zero-carbon parks and intelligent upgrades in remote mining areas, the solution deeply integrates hybrid power stations, mobile photovoltaic systems, energy storage systems, integrated storage-charging units and SOFC (solid oxide fuel cell) power generation systems. It provides customers with a low-cost, low-emission and highly reliable one-stop, deployable, end-to-end integrated Power & Energy solution.
